Adding your Skype status to your webpage

If you have ever wondered how people could contact you by Skype via your website you will be interested to know that you can add a widget to your site that will tell users if your available to talk, if you are away or if you are offline.

The code you need to put into your website is below, or you can download the full set of instructions (including email) and code for free here:

Before putting this code live on your website make sure you have changed the highlighted areas (yourskypename)  to your skype username.

Now the widget is on your website some users may find that the status is showing
Im Offline, if so dont worry, follow the simple instructions below:

  1. Open skype
  2. Click Tools (at the top of the window) then Click Options
  3. Click Privacy
  4. Tick the box that says "Allow my online status to be shown on the web"
  5. Click Save
