OpenSSL Heartbleed - Our Services are Secure

On Monday 7th April 2014, a serious security vulnerability in Open-SSL was found and nicknamed Heartbleed. Two-thirds of the Internet use Open-SSL to keep their connections secure. This vulnerability allows an attacker to steal sensitive data (such as account information and passwords) from various web services and clients.

We want all of our customers to know that Media City Way's services including hosting, databases and website's was not affected by the vulnerability.

How can you protect yourself?

Think before you open - As companies patch and secure their own systems, some may send emails to you to let you know. If an email appears that seems a little out of the ordinary then delete it immediately or report/send it to your Spam/Junk Folder.

New Password - Many of our customers have e-Commerce websites or websites that require usernames and passwords, as our systems are secure, updating your password provides that little more reassurance.
